The country's GDP shrank by 4.6% in the second quarter measured year-on-year.
ロシアの第2四半期のGDPは前年比(year-on-year)で4.6%の縮小となった。

In the first half of the year auto sales were down by 36%.
上半期、自動車販売は36%の減少だった。

Real disposable income dropped by 3.1% year-on-year in the first two quarters.
実質可処分所得(real disposable income)は最初の半年間で前年比3.1%の落ち込みだった。

Retail sales have fallen for seven months in a row.
小売売上高は7ヶ月連続で落ちている。

Last year 75 of Russia's 85 regions ran budget deficits.
昨年、85あるロシアの地域のうち、75が財政赤字だった。

Industrial production in Russia dropped 4.7% in July, the sixth straight month of decline.
ロシアの工業生産は7月、4.7%落ち込んだ。これで6ヶ月連続の減少である。

The government has classified 94 of its 314 monogorods as "red zones" at risk of economic collapse, up from 75 last year.
ロシア政府は、314あるmonogorods(company town)のうち94をレッド・ゾーン(経済崩壊の恐れのある地域)に指定した。昨年の75から20近く増えている。

インフレ(物価上昇)によって、家計はすっかり食いつぶされてしまった。



Maria Lipman, a political analyst says, "Russia's great strength throughout the centuries has been that its people can seemingly adapt to any conditions."
「ロシアが数世紀にわたって示してきた偉大なる強みは、国民がどんな状況におかれようとも適応してきたことだ」と政治アナリストのマリア・リップマンは言う。

Ms Stepanova, a former cultural worker says, "After the second world war, we survived on grass. Russia will survive whatever happens now."
「第二次世界大戦が終わったあと、私たちは草をたべて飢えをしのぎました。現在、ロシアがどうなろうともきっと生き残るでしょう」と以前の文化人、ステパノヴァは言う。



"Putin is a hero", Mr Mkrtchyan says. Nonetheless, he, like many in Russia, sees no link between political leadarship and economic woes.
